Everyone these days likes to see a nice toned body and especially six pack abs on a male. But what about women you say. Yes women too can have nice toned abs.
Visibility of your abs is really controlled by the amount of belly fat covering them. Trying to figure out what is the best lower abs exercise routine is a pretty difficult thing to do. We are going to point you in the right direction for the most successful lower abs exercise routine and cut your path to success.
We can only suggest what it believes are the best lower abs exercise programs for your success, you need to make diet
your number one priority, otherwise you may as well not even get started on these healthy body building exercises. A good routine supported by a solid nutritional program will work synergistically to give you actual visible results so much quicker.
While you are working on your diet and performing the lower abs routines you will help strengthen your core and tone your lower abs muscles. You need to get your body fat down to an acceptable percentage, typically for men around or below 10%, and women around 15%.
Abs exercise routines for women that can be performed in your home
You will require pieces of very inexpensive equipment to help give you a versatile range to work your abs and give yourself a thorough overall workout.
We would like to impress upon you that doing more challenging abs exercise programs which target the Upper Rectus Abdominus, more commonly referred to as the 'six pack' muscles, the Obliques are the muscles that run along the side of your abdomen and the Transverse Abdominus is the deep band of muscle virtually the whole way around your torso.
It is this muscle that people most often neglect. The first really effective piece of equipment that women can use for abs exercises is an abs wheel or "Power Wheel". You can roll yourself forward and backwards while on your knees. This routine is so much more effective than crunches. Next day your stomach will feel deep muscle soreness over a much greater area.
The Power Wheel also has a place for your feet on the handles so that you can roll with your feet working the lower abs and hip flexors very intensely. This abs exercise is tough to duplicate any other way for effectiveness and results. In all cases you are supporting your upper body with your chest, shoulders, and triceps giving an extra kick for overall muscle toning and fat loss.
The second piece of equipment is the stability ball or "Swiss ball". You have probably noticed people using these "Swiss balls" for wall squats or even doing crunches. Once again the routines you can perform with this piece of equipment are endless.
One of the most difficult variations of this is the pike to work the lower abdominals. After pregnancy women can work up slowly from easy exercises all the way to advanced level abs exercises using the Swiss ball while regaining their tight figure and toning up the tummy muscles. Your return on investment is excellent considering the endless home workout possibilities.
The Leg Lift is the first lower abs exercise routine.
To start this routine lay flat on your back with both your hands tucked under your buttocks, gently lift your legs to a vertical position while contracting your upper abs.
Gently lower your legs slowly back to the start position, but be sure your legs are only a few inches from the ground, hold for a short time (a couple of seconds) then raise your legs to a vertical position while contracting your abs. Repeat this routine until the number of repetitions is completed.
Alternating Supine leg walks is the second lower abs exercise routine.
Like the leg lift, to start this routine lay flat on your back with both your hands tucked under your buttocks. Then raise your left and right legs to a vertical position while contracting your lower abs. Gently lower your left leg so that your foot is only a few inches from the ground. Hold it for a short time (a couple of seconds) then raise your leg back to the vertical position, then repeat the same procedure with your right leg. Repeat this routine until the number of repetitions is completed.
Supine Reverse Crunches is the third lower abs exercise routine
Like the previous two exercises, start off by laying flat on your back on the floor with your hands tucked under your buttocks. Raise your left and right legs to a vertical position. You need to bend both your knees to a 90 degree angle and contract your lower abs. While your legs are in the same position slowly lower your legs back to the floor, so your legs are only a few inches from the ground, hold for a short time (a couple of seconds). The final part of this routine involves pulling your knees up to try and make contact with your chest and really squeezing your lower abs while you bring up your legs. Repeat this routine until the number of repetitions is completed.
Fitness and Health Ideas believe that if you persevere with these exercises at least three times per week, you will gradually become much healthier, fitter, mobile and be less susceptible to aches and pains.
