Abs Specific Exercises With Kettlebells

By
I am often asked about Kettlebell Workouts for Abs development and Abs specific exercises which can be performed with the Kettlebell.
The answers are always really simply and yet still appear to shock people. The truth is that the Rocky films and their epic training montages have convinced us all that we have to be able to perform the Dragon flag with insane intensity
and be able to have medicine balls not only dropped onto our Abs but they also have to bounce off them.
Now for the answer... nearly every weight bearing movement involves and will exercise the Abdominal wall!
As we move into the arena of the Kettlebell we can start to look at why Kettlebell exercises may as well be your weapon of choice to sharpen the Abs. The very nature of the Kettlebell forces more stress onto your core muscles than any of its weight lifting cousins such as the Dumbbell or Barbell. This due to the cannon-ball like shape and the position of the handle - basically, the body is always in contact with the weight and the force of the weight meaning that as any exercise you perform moves along it's route of completion one muscle group takes over from another as oppose to a slight 'mid-rep' rest.
Full body Kettlebell movements such as Goblet Squat, Kettlebell Swing and the Kettlebell Clean are not only fantastic mass building exercises but they heavily involve the core muscle groups and will dramatically improve the strength and conditioning of the Abs.
You can of course, perform Abs specific movements such as Kettlebell Crunches, Kettlebell Sit-Ups and Kettlebell Hanging Leg raises but there is very little evidence to suggest this will improve the definition in your Abdominal wall.
The fact remains that as long as your body fat percentage is as low as possible then your Abs will show through. Proof of this can be found in your local swimming, any young boy with low body fat will display the 'six pac abs' physique. This is just a simple case of everyone having the Abdominal wall structure which is normally covered by a layer of Fat tissue but when we have low body fat (as many young Boys do) the Abs show through.
This basically highlights the fact that if we all do cardio and keep the diet clean to keep the body fat low, our Abs will show through with the need for Abs specific exercises.

Get Sixpack Abs - Top 5 Reasons for the Lack of Progress

By
To get sixpack abs is the dream of all who envision themselves as better looking, energetic, athletic and more desirable.
There are thousands upon thousands of programs in the world and even more are being put together to help the enthusiastic to achieve this noble goal. There are hundreds exercises that people have found to be beneficial to achieve a sixpack.

Changing Your Gym Workout For Six Pack Abs

By
If you've been training at the gym to get a six pack and build muscle but are seeing little results, try making these changes to your workout so your midsection looks amazing!
Work Many Muscle Groups
If you want to train for a six pack, you want to maximise the fat burning effect in the exercises you do. This means doing intense exercises with multiple muscle groups across the entire body for
maximum fat loss!

Why should you train this way? It's called the EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) or afterburn effect, where you can burn fat after your workout (even when you're resting) for up to days after your workout! The greater the intensity of your workout, the greater the fat burning effect!

To make sure your workout is intense, do compound movements! This means bench presses, squats, deadlifts, dips and chin-ups! When you activate more muscle groups at a high intensity and work rate, your body needs to burn more fat to recover your muscles, balance your hormones and refuel!

Compound movements involve a higher workload than isolations (such as bicep curls and many machine exercises) because more muscle fibres are activated and more force is required to complete each action!

To make sure your workout is intense, do a whole-body workout! This works along the same principle as choosing compound movements over isolations... when you work your whole body vs. a few muscle groups, your body needs to burn more fat to recover all of those different muscle groups!

Increase Protein Intake

This tip may not be for everyone - but consider the amount of protein in your diet. Are you eating lots of poultry, fish, beef, pork and other meats? Or is most of your diet made up of things from the carb variety?

If you've grown up on a low or medium protein diet, increasing your protein intake may have a MASSIVE effect on your body's ability to store muscle and burn fat. This is because many of the amino acids you ingest when you eat protein help encourage the processes of muscle building and fat storage. The protein leucine helps keep you full, so you eat less empty calories (keeping you trimmer) and the amino acids arginine, ornithiene and lysine help your body secrete growth hormone, which is a vital signal for your body to build muscle and burn fat as energy.

Increase your protein intake by eating lots of meats from lean sources, such as poultry, fish, eggs and lean beef. Additionally, nuts and tofu are great sources of protein for snacks.

My favourite protein power-food is whey protein, a powdered form of the liquid by-product of cheese making. If you've seen people at the gym with their coloured shakes or buying protein drinks from the counter, most likely they're taking in whey protein.

Whey can be up to 90% protein (in isolate form) and is a great low-fat, low-carb protein source! It also has mood-boosting properties and is fast absorbing. Consider whey protein supplementation to boost your daily protein intake!

Do Cardio!

Especially if you have endomorph body-type tendencies, that is, you will store fat at any opportunity, cardio is a great way to make sure you keep trim!

For many people, a cardio program alone will NOT be enough to get enough fat loss for a six pack.

However, along with a weight training program that boosts your metabolism for an extended period of time, cardio can help put your fat burning into overdrive!

Just like in your weights workout, you must ensure that your cardio is at an intense level. Generally, the greater intensity and higher oxygen output your cardio, the more overall fat you'll burn in the workout. However, if you are just starting out cardio, don't be afraid to train your body up. It make take some weeks of training before you can push your body at a high intensity!

Eat Protein Post-Workout

To ensure you're building muscle and burning fat at your maximum-rate post-workout, make sure you eat a high-protein meal after any high-intensity workout, especially weight training sessions!

By the end of a session, your body will be in a catabolic state, breaking down muscle tissue for energy. Eating a high protein meal of lean meats or a whey protein drink will ensure that your body has the fuel to repair and grow muscle tissues, not break it down for recovery.

That's It!

If six pack abs are the thing you really want, that's how you start to adjust your workout and lifestyle for maximum fat loss and some muscle building! A high-protein diet and intense exercise activating as many muscle groups as possible is key in creating a fat burning stimulus that will get your abs looking super awesome!

Remember, there's always more you can do to maximise fat loss and it's all nutrition and discipline! Cut the foods that put on fat and eat clean, natural foods to get accelerate six pack results!

I've Tried Everything - Why Can't I Get Six Pack Abs?

By
Six pack abs are the ultimate sign that you're fit and in great shape! Getting a great midsection isn't super hard, but you must have the right strategy! Tweak your strategy and all you have to do is work! Here's the simple way of getting great abs...
Six Pack Abs Are Not About Strong Abs
Don't get me wrong, having a strong core is super beneficial! But to actually get a six pack abs, doing
hundreds of crunches isn't going to be the most effective strategy!

I have seen people who spend what seems like hours a week doing ab exercises in the gym - but they have a beer belly! Meanwhile, I have a six pack but I spend 15 minutes a week tops working on ab strengthening! Why? Because I'm focusing on maximising fat loss in each gym session and eating healthy 24/7!

Simple Fat Loss

Here's fat loss demystified. If you understand the science behind what stores fat and what makes you lose fat, you'll be able to understand exactly what you have to do to get great abs! That means that there's no more guesswork and all you have to do is put in effort for a slim stomach!

Principle #1: Cut Out Bad Foods

The first principle of super simple fat loss is cutting out foods that are making you fat. Foods that are overly processed, oily, fried, full of trans fats, preservatives and ingredients that you understand are generally very fattening! If you cut these foods out entirely, watch your fat loss accelerate!

Sodas, fruit juices and other drinks with lots of sugar, sweetener or empty calories are also super fattening! If you drink a lot of flavoured and sugared drinks, by simply just drinking water you can see massive increases in your rate of fat loss!

A lot of breads and grains can also be extremely fattening! Carb sources which are refined and have the fibre and nutrients taken out are fast-digesting, spiking your body's insulin and blood sugar levels! When insulin and blood sugar are high, you store fat at a much higher rate!

Foods like breads, pastas, pastries, rice and other starchy, white-flour based foods are things you should look to eliminate from your diet if you want to undergo super-effective fat loss! Starchy vegetables like potatoes can be quite fattening so eat in moderation!

Instead, eat foods that are slow-absorbing or don't spike insulin like fruits and vegetables. Leafy green vegetables are a great carb source, but you may have to get used to eating them in high amounts to keep your energy up!

You should also look to fats as a great energy source! Avocado, olive oil and vinegar (the less processed variety) are great things to add to a meal to keep it nice and slow-absorbing!

Principle #2: Exercise For Maximum Fat Loss

The second principle for super effective fat loss is to do exercises that promote maximum fat burning!

If you're doing slow cardio or other training that doesn't seem to be helping you burn a lot of fat, you may need to lift the intensity!

Strength training is a great, intense exercise which can help boost your metabolism for up to days after the workout! The reason why this afterburn effect occurs is because high-intensity exercise demands a lot of energy output and oxygen usage! To recover from short bursts of high-intensity exercise, your body actually burns through fat to replenish fuel and restore hormones to a normal level.

To have an intense strength training workout, ensure you use compound movements, exercises that use multiple muscle groups! So that's squats, deadliest, chin-ups and bench presses to name a few!

When you activate multiple muscle groups during an exercise you activate maximum muscle fibres and your body needs to burn more fat to help these fibres recover and grow.

Cardio is also a very effective tool for fat loss - when done right! If your cardio session is too slow a pace, you will not burn a significant amount of fat. Your cardio needs intensity, so try running the same distance or for the same time at a faster pace. If you're not a big fan of fast cardio, try doing cardio the day after an intense workout like strength training! Your body will burn even more fat while the afterburn effect is underway!

That's It!

You now understand how it is possible for you to get six pack abs. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but now that you have the right strategy, all you have to do is put in the hard yards! You can do it, now you just have to go do it!

How to Get Flat Abs Through Diet

By
Everybody would love to own a set of six pack abs. I know I would. Heck, I would settle for flattish abs. And most women would love to have a beautiful, flat, toned stomach. Both James Bond and Thor not only worked out really hard to achieve those flat, rippled abs, but they also conformed to a fairly strict dietary regimen as well.
Doing a thousand crunches a day in ten different positions may build up the underlying muscles, but
no one will see them if there is a large layer of fat surrounding the area. This is why getting lean must go with getting mean.

To start with, boost your fiber intake. Fiber comes from fruit, vegetables and whole grains. You can't get enough of this, nor will it be processed in the same way, with meat. And make sure your fiber intake is from fresh ingredients. Stay away from anything processed. For example, if you eat a medium baked potato with skin, you'll receive about 3.8 grams of fiber. If you turn that same potato into scalloped potatoes, the benefit drops to about 1 gram, not counting all the extra fat that goes with a good recipe of scalloped potatoes.

For a good flat abs diet, you need about 25 grams of fiber a day and you need to be drinking a lot of water. By that, I mean probably more than the standard 8 by 8 rule. Because if you want that flat gut, you had better be doing some serious cardio as well. So, you may very well need 12 by 12 or more, depending on your size and conditioning.

Drinking plenty of water also has the added benefit of flushing out sodium, which is an ab killer. We only need about 500 mg per day with a max cap of 2400 mg. Yet, most Americans get way more than this. So, leave the salt shaker right side up!

Next, you need carbohydrates for energy. However, not too much. As this breaks down, it turns into glucose, which turns into fat. Therefore, keep this number between 45 and 65 percent of your daily total.

You also need protein to build lean muscle. Shoot for 15 to 20 percent per day of protein. Yes, it can be from meat, preferably white lean meat. But, keep your overall daily fat intake from all sources to no more than 20 to 25 percent.

Finally, I saved the best for last. Lay off the booze and caffeine. Pause, while I put on my sound deadening headphones. Guess I'll request a refund because I can still hear many of you screaming.

Well, for one, they are both diuretics and will dehydrate you without giving you any of the benefits of water. And two, the calories in that light beer add up quickly and not in a good way. And, drinks like sodas will only blow you up from all the carbonation floating around in those bubbles, not to mention all the other nonsense they put in those things.

Okay, if you can do all of the above and stay stress free, which is important for keeping your cortisol level in balance and not depositing more fat around your organs, you too can look like the dream "hottie" you have pinned to your fridge.

Why Six Pack Abs Are Made in the Kitchen

By
The type of food that you eat plays a very important part in your health. But what many dieters do not know is that there are actually certain kinds of foods that are made especially for trimming various muscle groups such as the abdominal muscles, which is one of the most common problem areas for many dieters and exercisers. So if you'd like some tips, read on and learn about the best kinds of foods that will help you get those well-toned, six pack abs today.

One of the very first things that you should implement in your kitchen is to stop cooking and eating high caloric foods. The only way that you can tone those muscles and get those six pack abs is when you burn more calories than the amount that you take in. Making your meals out from scratch instead of ordering out will give you the freedom to adjust your ingredients and take away those that may add up to the calorie count.

If you have a sweet tooth, you can exchange those candies and chocolate bars with healthy fruit and protein shakes whipped right out from your kitchen. Fresh fruit shakes are fairly easy to make. One good way of hastening the fat loss process is to especially pick fruits that are high in fiber, such as pineapple, mango or banana. Fiber has been proven to help aid in the weight loss process as it acts as a natural appetite suppressant and as a digestive system cleanser. The less you feel the need to eat, the better are your chances of achieving those well-toned six pack abs.

The amount of sodium (or salt) that you put into your cooked meals also plays an essential part in your dieting regimen. Sodium has a very important role in the process of muscle formation. If you are subjecting your abdominal muscles to heavy workouts, it's very important that you get ample amounts of these substances in your body. However, do make sure that you do not use overly large amounts of salt in your cooking as this can also mess up with your water-electrolyte balance and make you feel bloated and extra heavy.

Many dieting and exercise experts recommend that you take smaller but more frequent meals in a day. This change in eating habit can greatly help you get those six pack abs in no time at all. Eating four to six meals in a day can help promote constant metabolic rate and put your body at a state where it is continuously burning fats all throughout the day. This will help you build more lean muscle mass.

Protein is probably one of the most important types of nutrients that you can include in your diet - most especially for those who are actively building up muscle mass. Protein is mainly made out of amino acid - the main building block of muscle tissue. So always include ample amounts of proteins in your diet. Good protein sources come from lean meats, chicken or egg. Remember never to use too much spices or condiments as this can add up to your sodium and caloric intake.

Although most of the dieting regimens out in the market today promote low-carb meals, carbohydrates play a very important role in the body as well. Carbohydrates are the primary sources of energy for the body. Hence, you should never leave them out of your diet if you want to achieve those six pack abs. Just try to have them earlier in the day.

Get carbohydrates from good and healthy sources such as root crops, brown rice, vegetables and fruits. This should go similarly with your fat intake as well. Fish such as salmon and olive oil are wonderful and healthy sources of good cholesterol.

One very important thing that you should remember is that diet is not the only factor to help you get those six pack abs. Although they are considered to contribute to at least 70% of the entire process, exercise plays a very crucial role as well. There are now a number of exercise routines that are made especially for targeting abdominal muscles. It is also equally important that you learn how to perform these routines properly. If not, this can result to injuries and muscles strains.

Toning your muscles is not easy. It will take time and a whole lot of hard work. But with the right kind of diet and exercise, getting those six pack abs is indeed possible.

How You Can Get 6 Pack Abs That Last

By
First and foremost if you want to work towards getting 6 pack abs, you are going to need to make sure that you have the determination and drive that previous body and strength builders that preceded you have demonstrated.
Working out and toning up any part of your body is never going to be easy, and the only way that you are going to be able to get the results that you are looking for here is if you are willing to put in the
time and effort that is required. Mind set is key. Keep repeating to yourself that you know you can do this and half the battle is won.

When it burns and pains you, you are going to have to make sure that you push through, because this is when you are really going to be getting the best results.

Now if you want to get 6 pack abs, besides having the determination and motivation to do so, there are also a few other things that you are going to have to take care of.

How to do it:
To get 6 pack abs, one of the first things that you are going to have to do is cut out all the sugar from your diet. By not eating any foods that are high in sugar any more, you will almost instantly notice a change in the way that you look. You can even drop a couple pounds in as little as a few days, if you just omit all the sugary foods.

You are really just going to have to start going through your cupboards seeing what you have, and making sure that you are not keeping anything that is processed, sugary, salty, or otherwise bad for you.

Now if you want to get 6 pack abs, another important step that you are going to have to take is to get more active. Of course eating all the right things is great and will help you lose weight, but if you are not exercising properly and especially working on your problem areas, then you are not going to be able to get 6 pack abs.

You are going to need to work out and tone your whole body but focus on doing the abdominal exercises that are going to work your core and help you tighten and tone your abdominal muscles.

There are lots of different exercises that would work well, and the best idea is going to be for you to create your own workout plan that you can stick to.

Protein Supplements for 6 Pack Abs

By
There are numerous people who decide to build six pack abs every day. When young and also older men take the decision, they do so realizing that achieving the milestone can only be done by rigorous exercise. Some of them are aware that overeating and skipping breakfast has to be avoided. But not many know the importance of protein supplements and their effects in generating quick results.
When one talks about quick results, it definitely does not mean that the feat can be achieved in a couple of weeks. If you are starting afresh, it would easily take you about a month and a half to two
