How to Choose the Perfect Diet Plan

By

Millions of people worldwide start up on a diet plan each and every day. Sadly, only a fraction of these ever see the results that they're looking for. Why? They picked a plan they couldn't realistically stick with.

One of the most important things that you can do to guarantee that you see weight-loss success is making sure you select the best diet from the start. If you put yourself on a diet that isn't all that effective, or that has way too many rules, don't be surprised when your pant size doesn't budge.

Remember that a great diet, even when it has a high success rate, is not necessarily right for everyone. It's important that you consider what works for you - not your friend.

Let's go over some of the most important factors to consider when selecting your diet plan.

The Details:

• Consider your desired rate of weight loss. The faster you want to lose weight, the more intense the calorie deficit will need to be.

• Think about your natural food preferences. Don't start up on a diet that has you eating foods you despise. This is a fast way to fall off the bandwagon in less than a week.

• Consider your schedule. Think about how much time you have to invest in meal preparation, and make sure your diet accommodates that.

• Think about your food intolerances. Are you unable to tolerate dairy? Do you have a sensitivity to gluten or tree nuts? Choose a plan that suits your basic needs.

• Consider exercise. How much do you want to work out? Make sure your plan is going to provide sufficient energy and carbohydrates to do so.

• How long do you plan to be on the diet? Make sure to choose a plan that is going to carry you through for the long haul. A 2-week crash course is not going to support long-term success.

• Do you need a flexible meal plan? If you need to adjust your food intake as your day progresses along, find a plan that will help you do this. Do you wish to use supplements? Some plans will call for them, some won't. Pay attention to this, or you may have to purchase products you don't want to use.

• Are you male or female? Certain plans are geared toward certain genders due to the difference in hormones and how that affects nutritional requirements and digestion.

• How often do you eat out? Does the plan allow for this?

• Think about how you feel after eating a carbohydrate-dense meal. Do you feel sleepy or full of energy? The answer to this question will help you determine if you'd do better on a lower carb or lower fat diet plan.

The Bottom Line:

Don't jump onto the first diet you find that promises fast results, or you will be well on your way to frustration and disappointment. Choosing a proper diet can feel overwhelming at times with so many options available; however, if you make smart choices and think things through, you can select one that's best for your lifestyle, food preferences and general needs.

What's the Best Bulking Diet Plan?

By Dave Irons

When people are interested in bulking up with the hope of getting stronger or defeating their "hardgainer" genetics, they often become curious...

What is the best bulking diet plan?

Because people don't like wasting time with ineffective options. They don't want to be uncertain about whether or not the process they're following is working. They want to be sure. They want to have confidence in the approach they take.

But I'm not going to say, "This is the best combination of food and drink each day to bulk up." If anyone offers such specificity, mistrust them. There's no option that's so perfect to be effective and applicable to everyone.

I will, however, say that the best bulking diet plan is one that:

You stick with. It's enjoyable. It's tasty. You like the foods you need to eat and you won't easily become bored of them. You might not necessarily love the bulking process all the way through, but it's at least bearable. It won't aggravate you to do the point that you quit.

You won't struggle to prepare. People often think about the difficult of consuming a lot of food, but preparation can end up being the bigger pain point. Because while it's nice to assume we'll have the patience, skill, or energy to make some amazing bulking meals every single day during the bulking phase, the truth is that we won't. Preparation can take a lot of time and it can run wild if you're not careful.

You won't struggle to consume. But still, consumption matters. You have to make sure the foods are tasty and they come in a form you can actually consume. Do you have a day job? You'll need bulking snacks you can take with you. Work from home? You have some more options. Blended foods will always be easier to consume than solid foods, but you can also grow tired of them. Sooner or later, you'll want to chew something the old-fashioned way.

Is still effective. This means you need to consider the macros and the calories you're consuming. It's pointless eating a big meal if it doesn't push you toward your bulking goals. Stick with calorie-dense foods like coconut oil, diary, and whatever else you can shove into your mouth with relative ease.

I know you're probably still going to search for a bulking plan that's perfectly precise and amazing. Be assured though, perfection isn't needed. Just follow the above strategies and you'll find success.

What Is the Paleo Diet Plan in Simple Terms?

By
The paleo diet plan, which you may have heard referred to as the caveman diet, is basically a dietary plan for modern times based on what we believe cavemen ate in the paleolithic time period during the early half of the stone age.

This present-day diet is composed of food groups that consist mainly of fish and other seafood, grass-fed animal meats, poultry, eggs from cage-free chickens, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and healthy oils, such as flaxseed, coconut and olive oils. In a nutshell, the diet is based on the foods that could be hunted, fished and collected by cavemen thousands of years ago. Consequently, grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar or oils, potatoes and processed foods are excluded from the diet.

Bountiful in nutrients and free from added chemicals and preservatives, research has shown that these natural food groups contribute to a healthy body. While the intention for many is losing weight on this caveman diet, the objective of living a balanced and energetic lifestyle is what keeps so many people committed. It is interesting that medical professionals recommend the same types of foods for weight control and high blood pressure today that our primitive cavemen thrived on so many years ago.

An example of a day's menu on this diet could consist of a couple of free-range eggs scrambled in olive oil with sautéed onions, peppers and mushrooms for the breakfast meal. A salad loaded with greens, veggies, nuts and sliced fruit for lunch speaks for itself in so far as the paleo diet health benefits. Dinner could be grilled salmon or other fresh fish and as many vegetables as desired seasoned with garlic and olive oil. Berries and fruits are a typical dessert or snack along with raw vegetables or nuts.

Paleo Diet Health Benefits
One of the first noticeable results from being on the paleo diet plan is a loss of excess fat as the body starts to convert stored fat to energy. The omission of processed foods being replaced by all natural foods will automatically cause an upsurge in metabolism rates. People who are on the paleo diet to lose weight generally feel less hungry and do not suffer from sugar cravings. Bottom line, you are eating healthy while burning fat at the same time.

While health benefits of the paleo diet to lose weight are an incentive to undergo this strict diet, the overall health benefits are encouraging. Along with weight loss, these natural foods are recognized for their support in stabilizing blood pressure and cholesterol to healthy levels while increasing energy, a task the body cannot do when overloaded with processed foods and sugar. The distinct health benefits of this unique diet are a stronger immune defense in fighting off illness and disease, thus eliminating many health risks that are so widespread today. For whatever reason you choose for being on a diet that originated thousands of years ago, the natural foods alone will have a significant improvement on your health and vitality.

Is the diet too restrictive? It may seem that way in the very beginning, but after some time most people come to the realization that their body really doesn't need or even want these outlawed foods.

It's typical for anyone to get bored by eating repetitive foods, so it's helpful to diversify your food choices as much as possible. There really is a large selection of foods on the paleo diet to choose from after all that are healthy and nutritious for your body. The diet provides the types of foods that your body needs to burn fat and feel energized which is not often found in most diets.

A paleo diet plan is not always easy to follow and probably the biggest downfall is not being able to come up with original meal ideas and staying consistent in putting together a meal plan. With the paleo diet growing in popularity there are a lot of menu plans and paleo recipe books available to help get your paleo diet journey off to a good start.

Starting a Low Carb Diet Plan - The 7 Best Keys to Success

By

If you're reading this, you are probably familiar with the impressive health benefits of a low carb diet plan, which have been demonstrated in many mainstream nutritional studies. These benefits include fat loss, appetite reduction, enhanced metabolism, greater energy, and reduced risk-markers for many life-threatening diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
So what is the best way to get started? This article covers 7 of the best time-tested strategies to get you on a low carb diet plan (that lasts).
1) Start Small
One common mistake people make is taking on too much, too quickly. While diving in the deep end shows strong motivation, it's a lot like sprinting at the start of a marathon, and can ultimately lead to frustration and returning to old habits.
Instead, try to focus on making a few positive changes gradually, so you can experiment with what works best for you. If you try to burden yourself all at once by telling yourself you "can't have" certain foods, that will generally lead to greater desires and cravings for those "forbidden" foods. By taking small steps over a period of time, you can comfortably adopt a low carb diet plan that is sustainable for your long-term health.
2) Remove Bad Foods
Begin by having a look at the food in your kitchen, including the snacks, cooking products, and groceries that you buy on a weekly basis. The first step is to start removing items that contain high levels of simple carbohydrates and sugars, which should be reduced in your weekly diet. As creatures of habit, we tend to do what is convenient, and that includes eating things that are nearby. So start selectively removing those processed foods that contain high fructose corn syrup, those refined white flours, and other items high in carbohydrates that contribute to more glucose and fat storage in your body.
3) Include Good Foods
On your next trip to the grocery store, make sure to load up on delicious healthy foods that are high in good fats, protein, and nutrients that your body really needs. Look for things that are appealing to you, like high-quality meats, eggs, leafy green vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Also, try cooking foods with better oils by using olive oil or coconut oil (which are great substitutes for less-healthy fats like vegetable oil). Try searching for low carb shopping lists online to find good ideas before your next trip to the grocery store.
4) Get Support
Do you have a friend, spouse, or family member who can join you (or support you from the sidelines)? Try talking with them about your goals, because teamwork is always better for accountability. The more you can find encouragement through a like-minded community, the better your chances of learning faster and achieving lasting success. There is no reason to go-it-alone, especially when you can find inspiration through people on YouTube, a great low carb nutritional book, or passionate bloggers who would love to hear from you, share their experiences, and offer valuable knowledge.
So get engaged!
5) Focus on Your Habits
Habit is an extremely powerful driving force behind human behavior. For better success on a low carb diet plan, take a close look at any habits that may be preventing you from eating well (make a list). Then, start with just a single habit (maybe it's that bagel you get from the deli every morning on the way to the office), and find a way to replace that habit with a healthier one (like making a green smoothie for your walk instead). Once that habit has been substituted, repeat the process.
Instead of simply removing old habits, it is absolutely crucial to replace those habits with better ones. Just like your food intake - the idea is not to reduce how much you eat, but rather to gradually substitute unhealthy foods for healthier ones.
The same is true of habits. The goal is not to combat our tendency to form habits - instead we want to substitute unhealthy habits with healthier ones. By doing this gradually and deliberately, your chances of success will improve dramatically. This way you will truly be in control of which behaviors you embrace, rather than allowing yourself to passively fall into mediocre choices or return to old ways.
6) Pay Attention to Results
As you start making changes, you will likely notice improvements in your health. Have you lost body fat? Are you feeling less hungry? Do you have more energy throughout the day? Are you getting compliments on your physique or your skin clarity?
If you are like many people who have experimented with a low carb diet plan, the answer to many of these questions will be "YES!" Try not to take this for granted, because these lasting benefits will become the strongest form of motivation to keep you on track in your healthier lifestyle. It might help to document these changes by using a scale, keeping a quick journal, or taking time to reflect on how you used to feel before making changes.
7) Find a Good Cookbook
For some who are used to eating processed or prepared foods, it can be challenging figuring out how to cook great meals without spending too much time in the kitchen. If you feel like switching to a low carb diet plan is too costly, time-consuming, or boring, then you should absolutely consider getting some good recipe guides or cookbooks that focus on low carb foods.
Low carb eating can be delicious, convenient, and very interesting over the long-term if you have access to good meal ideas and preparation tips. Set yourself up for success by finding a great cooking resource to keep your meal ideas fresh and creative. This way your journey to better health will be more convenient, more enjoyable, and more fun!
